ps4Ken Kutaragi is set to retire from Sony on June 19th, and all who are familiar with what he has contributed to the PlayStation 1, 2, and 3 are saddened to see him go. However, he seems to only be halfway through his plans for the PlayStations.

“As a matter of course, I have the vision of PlayStation 4, 5, and 6, which will merge into the network.”

However, very few details are known about the next console Sony will release. Phil Harrison (Sony) told Wired last summer I’d be amazed if the PlayStation Four has a physical disc drive.” Are we looking at a PlayStation 4 without any optical storage at all?

Some analysts have claimed that the PlayStation 4 will never come about the new appointment of Kazuo Hirai, an extremely software focused person, may indeed shift the focus of Sony from hardware to software.” Many cannot imagine Sony releasing another gaming console at all, and the mere thought makes all Sony supporters groan and sigh in frustration.

Where Kutaragi goes next is still unknown to us, he remains tightly involved in Cellius a joint venture games company by Sony and Manco Bandai. He also may simply be looking to relax with his retirement, as he was quoted saying he wanted to retire at age fifty. Now, at 56, he may finally be getting his relaxation.
