The Xbox 360 Elite officially went on sale April 29th, 2007. This new console sports a black finish, instead of matte white, a 120 gigabyte hard drive, and HDMI audio-video output.
However, there were serious complaints when Microsoft announced that for those who owned a Premium 360 and opted to buy the Elite instead of the stand-alone 120 gigabyte hard drive – there was no free data transfer cable.
Microsoft decided to compromise, offering the data transfer cable free to Elite owners, but only for a limited time. To get the cable, you have to download, print, and fill out an ‘authorization form’, with both the consoles serial numbers, then send it US mail to Indiana. Your data transfer kit will then come in the mail.
Download PDF to get the cable.
The form states “THIS OFFER IS GOOD ONLY FOR XBOX 360 CONSOLE OWNERS IN COUNTRIES WHERE XBOX 360 IS SOLD AT AUTHORIZED RETAIL LOCATIONS.” however it only lists a return address for North America.
We have emailed Microsoft and will post any comments
